Welcome to My Path Medical

Katherine Lantsman, MD

Passionate about Functional Medicine and nutrition, Dr. Lantsman established My Path Medical in 2012 in order to assist people to improve their overall health and to address chronic illness.

Dr. Lantsman is known and recognized for her ability to diagnose and to offer relief of symptoms from previously unidentified etiologies, and for treating the effects of chronic diseases, such as slow functioning thyroid, obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, gastrointestinal disorders, arthritis, hormone imbalance, fatigue, mood disorders, tick born and parasitic infection, and various other maladies.

Personalized and humanized approach to prevention and healing of chronic illnesses is in the essence of her approach to medicine. “I want to treat people as I want to be treated myself,” states Dr. Lantsman.

Trained and Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Lantsman was fortunate to begin her studies in integrative medicine during residency, where she spent one of her clinical rotations at Beth Israel Center for Health and Healing in Manhattan, New York.

After having completed her residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, she joined a rapidly paced medical practice on Upper East Side of Manhattan. Dr. Lantsman determined that even minimal nutritional interventions made tremendous difference in her patients: the curing of life long illnesses, avoiding surgeries, and contributing to people’s immediate well-being and lowering fatigue. Subsequently, she created her own integrative medicine practice in Scarsdale, New York.

Having treated many patients infected with Lyme disease in her practice in Scarsdale, Dr. Lantsman participated in a training program with Dr. Richard Horowitz of Poughkeepsie, NY, which was sponsored by The International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society.

Dr. Lantsman empowers her patients to participate in the healing process, leaving no stone unturned in establishing the root cause of the presenting symptoms and working in partnership with her patients on their path to feeling well.

Dr. Lantsman practices what she preaches, keeping a gluten free and dairy free household, preparing for her family unprocessed whole foods low in carbohydrates and rich with vegetables, fruits, nuts, organic meats and wild fish. She enjoys running, weight training and hot yoga. As a student at a school of meditation,, she starts her day with a meditation practice and uses dynamic awareness throughout the day.

Meet the Staff

We have a devoted team to help you along your path to good health.

Daniela Wong

Growing up locally in Boston, Daniela received her BFA from Suffolk University. Having worked previously at an ultrasound clinic and a chiropractor’s office, she found the medical field to be particularly engaging. My Path Medical is a perfect fit for that interest, and she finds the close-knit network between staff, doctor, and patient to be what makes it thrive. She enjoys art and does part-time freelance illustration and design.

  • “Dr. Lantsman is down to earth, intelligent, creative, and caring. She has a dynamic way of handling patient care, is very responsive, and keeps looking for answers where other doctors would just give up. I am so glad I found her!”

    - J.T.

  • “Recently I have become a patient of Dr. Katherine Lantsman. I was skeptical at first as I had seen so many MDs who did so many tests and offered no help or suggestion about my deteriorating health situation which, at that point, had left me nearly homebound. Since seeing Dr. Lantsman I have truly regained my life and my energy. I have a good relationship with Dr. Lantsman and, aside from the original problem I brought to her, she has helped me with multiple serious and complicated medical problems. She is accessible, creative and has never suggested that my medical issues are too complex or in some way impossible to address. She sincerely likes to help her patients feel better and feel better I do.

I would highly recommend Dr. Lantsman to patients who are suffering and receiving medical care that is uninspired, unfriendly or just unhelpful.”

    - D.W., Newton, MA

  • “Dr. Lantsman is a gifted physician. Her approach is mindful, broad in perspective and proactive about health rather than reactive. As a diagnostician, she pulls from multiple disciplines, not limiting the lens through which she views a patient to traditional Western medicine. She simply does not settle for the easy-out or first solution, but works with her patients, within their principles, toward the attainment of authentic health.”

    - J.B.

  • “Dr. Lantsman’s medical skill set is superb. She investigates her patients’ health problems to a much greater extent than other doctors and offers her patients a variety of solutions. She communicates very clearly with her patients and most importantly listens and responds to their concerns.

Dr. Lantsman treats her patients as human beings, caring not only for their physical health, but also for their overall well being (emotionally, etc.). She has the best bedside manner – better than I’ve seen from most other doctors.  She remembers details about her patients’ lives, asks how things are going, and truly listens. You don’t just feel like a medical file when you visit her — you feel like a person.

While I’m conditioned to believe in Western medicine, Dr. Lantsman has introduced to me to integrative approaches (that blend Western medicine with natural approaches) that I find refreshing. She has helped me become more conscious of factors in my life that affect my overall well being.

I’ve recommended Dr. Lantsman to my family and friends.  My best friend and my spouse are also her patients, and I’m confident they are receiving the very best care.”

    - J.W.

  • “As an elite athlete I pay close attention to my body and need it to be healthy to maximize my performance. I sought out Dr. Lantsman because I wasn’t feelling well and not recovering from workouts. Through her integrative approach Dr. Lantsman was able to diagnose several vitamin deficiencies and hormone imbalances that when corrected allowed me to maximize my performances and decrease recovery time.”

How We Are Different

Functional Medicine: We apply a functional medicine viewpoint to everything we do

You are a unique individual, with a unique genetic make-up, unique experiences and a unique path. That is why you need a one-of-a-kind approach to your healthcare needs.

Functional Medicine is a customized patient-centered approach, where the physician treats the whole person. Following a thorough and thoughtful evaluation, a treatment plan is established treating current symptoms. Patients will also receive the tools necessary to maintain wellness and prevent future chronic illness.

Under our current healthcare system the typical western medicine physician spends limited time with patients. The doctor simply takes patient symptoms and puts them under an umbrella of a diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is established, there are prescription drugs or a standard generic protocol that fall into place. This is a diagnosis-centered approach for the masses, where the physician treats a diagnosis and not the unique individual as a whole. Functional medicine seeks to remedy this traditional method of patient interaction and care.

A physician armed with functional medicine tools takes the time to investigate all aspects of a patient. Some of the aspects analyzed are the patient’s development, life stressors, health history, traumatic events, sleep, diet, social comfort and exercise regimen. A functional medicine physician evaluates all the functions and malfunctions of a patient by conducting a thorough physical exam and ordering specialized medical tests. Only then does the doctor recommend a plan for a better path forward. This may include a western medicine approach with prescription medications. These medications may be complemented by other recommendations, such as nutritional supplements, diet changes, stress reduction, hormonal balancing, detoxification and others.

We are committed to Functional Medicine at My Path Medical. We strive to provide this level of service to every patient visiting our practice.

Time Spent: We provide ample time to achieve the best diagnose and treatment plan.

We use personalized approach to health. Unlike a traditional medical practice, where practitioners have on average 15 minutes with a patient, at My Path Medical we take the time to listen, examine, evaluate, and to research medical literature if needed, in order to find a unique solution for each person that comes to see us. Moreover, when we apply Functional medicine approach and look at the whole person using cutting edge tests, our outcomes are superb. That is why we see so many clients who have already been to multiple primary care doctors and specialists at the top medical centers in the country, have done detailed work ups and told that “all is normal”, and finally find answers and relieve of symptoms at My Path.

Root Cause: We try to get to the root cause of your issue and not just give you a band aid.

Our philosophy at My Path Medical is grounded by our comprehensive patient-first approach that utilizes functional medicine to create unique and holistic treatment plans for every patient.

We take the time necessary to uncover the root cause to your problems instead of only providing band-aid solutions to your symptoms.

Prevention: We Focus on prevention, not just prescribing medication

Whether you are looking for wellness, prevention, treating chronic diseases, or men’s/woman’s health, or have a new diagnosis that you want to treat holistically, My Path Medical uses a patient-centered approach to address the whole person. What is the outcome? A plan that is formulated uniquely for you, that supports wellness, prevents illness, finds and treats underlying causes of diseases, and helps you reach optimal health. “I practice medicine of the future. Medicine that keeps my patients healthy instead of labeling them with diagnoses and providing pharmaceutical band-aids. “I look into the root cause and dynamics of potential diseases. Integrative nutrition and healthy lifestyle completes this rejuvenation approach. At My Path Medical, the goal is to provide safe, effective treatment and prevention based on a thorough evaluation of each individual patient.” – Katherine Lantsman, MD.
